This week, we are exploring the Addiction Counseling Competencies 115-123 Professional Ethics.  After reviewing your lectures and readings for this week, you will create a discussion posting of 200-500 words, answering the following questions:

• Select one of the seven basic ethical principles of health care professionals from the lecture and describe a circumstance in a counseling situation where that principle may be violated – write your own brief one paragraph scenario to complete this task.  Discuss the possible implications of this ethical lapse.
• Utilizing the Tap21Rubric to help you make this assessment, what words, phrases, concepts, or whole competencies do you wish to explore further?  If there are no points of interest, you will need to fully explain why you think that area is less interesting to you.
• What are the strategies you will use to explore your interest or develop an interest (if you have none) in that area.
