Directions
- Complete this assignment following the steps below.
- Download the Leadership Style Analysis assignment templateLinks to an external site.. Use of the template is required. A 10% deduction will be applied if the template is not used. See the rubric.
- Type your responses on the template. Do not submit handwritten notes. Save the template and include your name in the file name.
- Use the SMART goal you formatted this week and the result of the Leadership Style Inventory at the end of the lesson to complete the Leadership Style Analysis assignment.
- When complete, save and close the completed template. Click the Submit button at the top of this page to upload your completed assignment.
- Using APA format, cite and reference ideas and information from scholarly sources from the Chamberlain library. Sources should be no more than five years old unless they are historical references.
- Follow grammar, spelling, word usage, and punctuation rules consistent with formal, professional writing.
- Abide by Chamberlain University’s academic integrity policy.
Include the following sections (detailed criteria listed below and in the grading rubric). Answer the questions under each section with explanation and detail.
Section 1: Leadership, Management, and Followership
- In your current experience, do you more frequently assume the leader, manager, or follower role? Explain your answer.
- What do you consider to be your two strongest leadership characteristics? Explain your answer.
- What do you consider to be your two most significant leadership opportunities for growth? Explain your answer.
- How can your role (as a leader, manager, or follower) change based on the needs or responses of your team? Explain your answer.
Section 2: Leadership Style
- What was your result from the Leadership Style Inventory assessment in the lesson? Use citations to discuss.
- Do you feel this result accurately reflects your leadership style? Why or why not?
- How do you (or how will you) use this leadership style in the clinical practice environment? Give an example.
Section 3: SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Based) Goal
- What was your leadership-related SMART goal from the lesson?
- How does this goal help you grow as a professional nursing leader and contribute to your long-term career vision?
- What barriers could present themselves in the achievement of this goal? How will you overcome them?
- What milestones can you set to assess your progress in achieving this goal? What do the current sources say about milestones and goal setting?
