F; Input force = 225 N
D; Input distance = 400.8 mm
f; Output force = ?
d; Output distance = 127 mm
- Calculate output force (f) of a can crusher.
- Calculate the moment and create the free body diagram.
- If F output force(F 3 ) is less than 600 N , make adjustment to either the lever length or the angle.
Note: you need to understand how the moment is calculated and create the correct free body diagram,
F x D and f x d is does not make sense. The distance in a moment is perpendicular to the force. And forces in all components in your design must be in equalivelium. To do this, you need to have a correct free body diagram. Attached is a draft of FBD for your device and you need to complete it.
All forces F1 F2 F3 should be in equilibrium and when you apply F1, then your F3 should be enough to crush a can.
