Overview

After you have operationally defined a target behavior, it is important to consider how you are going to measure it. In part one of this assignment, you will select one video to watch and begin by identifying the target behavior. Next, you will provide an operational definition of the target behavior based off of the video including examples and non-examples. Lastly, you will state what measurement system you would use to measure the target behavior and provide a rationale.

In part two of the assignment, you will read the scenarios provided by your instructor, identify the appropriate measurement system, and provide a 1–2 sentence rationale for your choice.

Use the “Identify the Measurement System” template (provided by your instructor) to complete this assignment.

Part 1 Video Scenarios

Your instructor will provide you with example videos. Select one video and complete the following:

  • Identify the target behavior.
  • Provide an operational definition of the behavior including examples and non-examples.
  • Identify a measurement system you would use to measure the target behavior and provide a rationale.

Part 2 Written Scenarios

Your instructor will provide various scenarios for use in this assignment. Complete the following:

  • Read each scenario.
  • Identify the appropriate measurement system.
  • Provide a 1–2 sentence rationale for your choice. Explain why you didn’t choose another.

Be sure to complete the self-assessment grading rubric included in the template.

Additional Requirements

  • Written communication: Should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
