You may use online sources that are academic in nature (from a .edu or .gov site only). Required number of sources for written portion: 3-5 minimum. The following websites are NOT ALLOWED for your writing: Wikipedia, Answers, History.com, or similar sites. You may use these types of sites for media ONLY.
What to include in your final project:
1. Written portion
a. Format:
i. Double-spaced, 12 point font – Calibri, Cambria, or Times New Roman
ii. At the top left of the first page, please include the following:
1. Your Name
2. Class Section
iii. Include a title for your paper
iv. Do NOT include a title page
b. Explanation of the topic or event you chose (1000-1500 words)
i. Include an introduction and thesis
ii. Your content should include:
1. Historic background
2. Explanation of the topic or event
3. Significance/consequences
iii. Include a conclusion
iv. DO YOUR OWN WORK – plagiarism will not be tolerated
c. Citations
i. You must have IN-TEXT citations (these should be parenthetical for MLA or footnotes for Chicago style) – you should have at least one citation per paragraph. EVEN IF that paragraph is written in your own words or paraphrased, you MUST provide citations. Use MLA or Chicago style citations.
ii. Direct quotes should be limited – no more than 4 in your paper and should be no more than 2-3 lines each, and they need to be cited immediately. Use MLA or Chicago style citations.

d. Works Cited page – REQUIRED. Please have 2 separate sections on your Works Cited page – one section for your text, the other for your media. Media citations must be on the Works Cited page that accompanies your paper.
