Preliminary Investigation / Fieldwork:
Look at one of the following websites or find a website on your own for an activist group. If you choose a website that addresses multiple issues, choose a particular campaign to focus on. The sites discuss the activities that activists engage in to raise awareness about their campaigns. Briefly describe the following elements from the activist group’s campaign:
- ∙ What issue is the group campaigning for?
- ∙ What is the intended message?
- ∙ Who is the intended audience?
- ∙ What activities or events do they promote, engage in, or sponsor?
- ∙ How do these activities reach the intended audience and deliver the message that the group exists to support?
- ∙ Looking at the website, what visual / graphic appeals are made? How do the images used, colors, or font styles support the messages indicated?
