Please select an ongoing conflict such as the war in Ukraine, US-Iran hostilities, India and Pakistan, or China and Taiwan. These are just examples, so please get in touch with me for permission to pursue a particular topic. You will use the same conflict for all three assignments in this class, so it’s essential that you choose an ongoing conflict. In this assignment, you will describe the conflict in detail. What are the causes of the conflict? Who are the belligerents? What are the goals of each belligerent? Do not discuss attempts to resolve the conflict; that will be done in another assignment. Instead, focus on the historical causes of the conflict and the participants’ goals. Please use scholarly sources peer-reviewed articles, government publications (both US and non-US), and academic texts. You may also use primary sources such as press releases and public statements by the belligerents.Technical Requirements:

• Your paper must be at a minimum of 4-5 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).
• Scholarly and credible references should be used as described above. A good rule of thumb is at least 2 distinct scholarly sources per page of content; however, a minimum of 6-8 scholarly and/or peer-reviewed references are required.
• Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
• Students will follow the current Turabian Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
• Points will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources.
• It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, etc.
