DISCUSSION POST WEEK 6
This week, we focused on many aspects of research. In particular, we discussed the protection of research participants. In your discussion response for this week, address each of the following prompts:
- Attest that you have completed the Belmont Report Module.
- What strategies are used to protect vulnerable populations (pregnant women, children, prisoners) from harm when conducting nursing research?
- Include in this discussion a definition, in your own words or a resource’s words, of what a vulnerable population is. Remember that as nurses, we would be tempted to think of all of our patients as vulnerable; however, specific groups of patients fall within this definition.
Be sure to adhere to APA guidelines when citing sources. Also, as part of the discussion participation requirements, be sure to respond to at least two peers each week.
