Develop a syllogism (two premises linked by a middle term, yielding a necessary conclusion) from anything in the texts concerning the development of doctrine or papal authority. Evaluate two of your classmates’ proposed syllogisms both in terms of validity and relevance in five sentences or less.

Note: An example of a syllogism in symbols follows: A is B; B is C; therefore, A is C. It may seem very simplistic, but it can be challenging to take a complex literary work and reduce the thoughts expressed to this linear format, which is however helpful for analyzing its claims.
