Objective:

The purpose of this research paper is to analyze and critically evaluate diversity issues within
Homeland Security and/or Emergency Management and to propose effective strategies to address
these challenges.

Paper Length:
The final research papers should be 8-10 pages in length, excluding the title page, abstract, and
references.

Format:
The paper should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) format guidelines,
including:

Introduction: Introduce the topic, stating the importance of diversity in Homeland
Security/Emergency Management. Be sure to clearly outline the objectives and scope
of the paper.

Body: The body of your paper should analyze specific diversity challenges
encountered in homeland security or emergency management. You may
also provide strategies and solutions that present effective strategies to address
diversity challenges relative to discussions and coursework concerning
the topic presented and approved by the instructor. Also, include case
studies or real-world examples that illustrate successful or unsuccessful diversity
initiatives relating to your topic.
