five aspects of a SMART goal. SMART is an acronym that stands for goals which are written to be specific, measurable,
attainable, relevant, and timely. Follow the four steps below to complete each skill chart:
- Identify the skill to develop. Skill one must be one of the lower-scored five ENGAGE skills. If you scored lower on
another ENGAGE skill, you should choose that for your second skill. Otherwise, you can choose any skill
available from the second list. - Perform research to identify ways to develop the two actions for the skill. List any links or resources used in the
Resources Reviewed field to record what you used to help you identify your action item(s) (these do not need to
be APA formatted). - Identify the SMART elements for each action item. Refer to the ENGAGE Personal Growth Plan Prep Lecture
presentation file for examples and presentation notes. - Refine your draft goal statement to incorporate all of the SMART elements.

How is your goal Specific? To develop my self-management skills, I am required to develop my
self-awareness by regulating myself in terms of handling my emotional
intelligence to chase my goals. It will motivate me to make informed
decisions confidently. It will be a booster to my boldness.
How is it Measurable?
Developing my self-awareness, I will maintain and display a high level of
confidence; I will develop positive self-talk, be proactive and build my
self-motivation strategies. I will make sure I am assertive. I will do selfevaluation to see how successful I was in self-regulation through selfdiscipline strategies that I would lay for myself building.
How is it Achievable?
I will develop a structured schedule for the month and allocate time per
week in two months when I will be speaking to a crowd to boost my
confidence and establish my self-awareness in the sector of boldness.
How is it Relevant?
Whenever I speak boldly one week after another, my public speaking
skills will be boosted, and I will stand a chance to be a prominent
leader. My self-awareness will improve, and therefore, I will be
motivated to do exploits because confidence and boldness eliminate
the fear of the unknown.
How is it Time-bound?
As of next week, I will seek to speak in youth forums once a week to
encourage them on self-discovery as I discover myself and my innate
giftings that are hidden due to limited self-awareness. I will exercise
that for two months after which I will have obtained competency.

To improve my self-management skills, I would like to be self-motivated
in all that I do. Motivation will make me enthusiastic and inspired to
participate in several school activities. It will also boost my selfdiscipline, especially in matters concerning timekeeping. When
motivated, one keeps time and is always organized. Self-discipline, selfmotivation and punctuality go hand in hand.
How is it Measurable?
To improve my self-motivation ability, I will be able to boost my selfdiscipline and punctuality in the attendance of my classes and any
gathering or any call at the intended time.
How is it Achievable?
To achieve this motivation and discipline, I will attend classes and
meetings on time. I will seek to master what motivates me and
contributes to my success, then I will be initiative and consistently
proactive even when things get tough. I will ensure that I constantly
keep time in class and any other activity that calls my attendance and
attention.
How is it Relevant?
It will help me adapt to prevalent changes easily, hence opening
learning opportunities for me. I will be more organized and attract
order hence command some space and standard that any other student
will admire to emulate. I will be able to accomplish my assignments on
time and within stated deadlines which will boost my morale to study
and achieve more success.
How is it Time-bound? I will commence this in the coming week on Monday and observe it
daily for seven weeks.

To boost my self-esteem, I will be required to know my self-identity
every day by reading materials on self-identity. Knowing who I am will
assist me in tackling new and difficult situations confidently and
positively, and have tolerance towards frustrations in case they come
my way.
How is it Measurable? I will allocate time for reading materials that build my self-esteem,
hence improving my self-worth.
How is it Achievable? To make this possible, I will schedule my day and fix two hours of
reading daily on matters of identity per week.
How is it Relevant? The reading of these materials will boost my self-image, my selfperception and my self-worth, as well as self-respect and acceptance.

else, I will read a chapter of a book that communicates the importance

To develop high self-esteem, I will have to do a thorough selfevaluation in relation to how I emotionally react to both negative and
positive situations in life. As a matter of fact, I will, from today
henceforth start examining my reactions in all extremes of life.
How is it Measurable?
To achieve this examination, I will be vigilant when my family or friends
bring about a debate that can trigger my anger and also when they
bring about a super interesting tale or when they bring me a surprise
gift or pay surprise visits.
How is it Achievable?
From today onwards I will be keen in every conversation I make or I am
involved in for the next two months. I will also ask my friends and
family to help me make these observations because I may forget at
times, especially at the scene of the extremes and fail to obtain the
results accurately. I will tell them to even silently take video clips,
especially when I am tackling tough situations.
How is it Relevant?
When I discover how I react to issues and situations, it will help me to
adjust my social or public image, which will help me to build strong,
relevant social relationships. The relationships are so paramount to my
entire productive life and existence.

From today, I have purposed to start self-evaluation on how I react to
