- Outline
Effective writers take the time to plan and organize their thoughts before sitting down to write. One of the most effective methods of planning is outlining.
In Module 03, your assignment is to create an outline. You will take the paragraph you wrote in Module 02 and turn it into a five paragraph essay in Module 04. This week you need to develop an outline which lists each step and the details for each step of your process. This outline will be a framework for building your essay.
An outline includes a brief description of what you want to include in each of your paragraphs.
Example Outline for a Process Essay

Directions:
In an argument paragraph you must consider all of the reasons why someone might disagree with your position. Your argument will present those arguments along with your response or counter claim that acknowledges or sometimes refutes the counter arguments. Select one of the following points and present your best argument either for or against the issue. Make an effort to select a topic that personally impacts you, or someone you know.
- Should high schools be required to provide childcare for teen parents?
- Should drug testing be mandatory for welfare recipients?
- Should teenagers be allowed to drop out of school at the age of sixteen?
- Should public schools be required to only serve “healthy” food in school cafeteria lunches?
- Should marijuana be legalized for legitimate medicinal purposes in all 50 states?

A difference in opportunity costs between businesses can lead to a comparative advantage in the production of a good and the decision to trade.
For this discussion, first play the simulation games Comparative Advantage (Without Trade) and Comparative Advantage (With Trade) in the MindTap environment. Then, you will share your experiences playing the games. Your work in this discussion will directly support your success on the course project.

- Imagine you own your own business. How would you evaluate opportunity costs and comparative advantage when making business decisions?
- Look up a Production Possibilities Frontier (PPF) graph. What role does the production possibility frontier (PPF) model have in making business decisions regarding specialization and trade?
In your responses, comment on the posts of at least two peers whose simulations had different outcomes than your own. Research and provide examples of companies in the news that are relevant to your peers’ comments on the value of comparative advantage for making their business decisions. 1 paragraph response for each.
