Overview
Upload an APA formatted MS Word document with a SWOT and SWOT Bivariate (TOWS) Matrix created in the form of a chart or using an alternative formatting and then pasted into a word document.
APA formatting includes title page, page numbers, references page, and everything that is necessary according to the current APA format.
Instructions
- Choose a publicly traded company (verify that the company is publicly traded using the SEC Edgar Database.
- Research scholarly databases and journals (the Business Data bases through the JFL are a good place).
- Find at least 10 Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats for your selected company to create your SWOT Matrix.
- Each point for the SWOT should include quantitative measurement that comes in the form of global economic conditions and specific industry information. There should also be citations for each to support the data and claims that are made.
- Use your SWOT to create a TOWS analysis. This is a matrix tool that assists with determining the company’s internal and external situation.
- The TOWS consists of four different strategies – each consisting of one internal factor (a strength or a weakness) and an external factor (an opportunity or a threat).
- These four strategies are titled as: the SO (Strength-Opportunity) Strategy, the ST (Strength-Threat) Strategy, the WO (Weakness-Opportunity) Strategy, and the WT (Weakness-Threat) Strategy.
- Develop each of these four strategies for your company using your previously gathered information from your SWOT. Please use external research to gather more understanding about both matrices but be sure to reference and cite any sources used.
Remember: You must parenthetically cite each S-W-O-T and T-O-W-S and include an APA references page.
