OBJECTIVE:This assignment involves using the EPA Drinking Water Mapping Application to analyze and compare the drinking water systems of five different locations in the United States. Your task is to record specific details about each location’s water system, including the type of water system, the water source, and any recent health-based violations.TASK INSTRUCTIONS:Research and Data Collection:Access the EPA Drinking Water Mapping Application. Search for the following cities and record specific details about their drinking water providers:Tucson, ArizonaSan Diego, CaliforniaChicago, IllinoisAtlanta, GeorgiaNew York City, New YorkEnsure that the “Drinking Water Providers” icon (water glass icon) is selected for accurate results.  Information to Record:For each city, find the first result in the list and document the following:Water System Type (e.g., Community Water System)Water Source (e.g., Groundwater, Surface Water)The three most recent health-based violations. Check the dates carefully to avoid duplicates. To find the health-based violations, click “More Information” in the application. If there are no health-based violations, note “none”. For example, looking at the Tucson data Maximum Contaminant Levels were reached for Nitrate in 1981. (Don’t report this because it’s not the most recent). Make sure to check dates, occasionally, you’ll see duplicates and those shouldn’t be reported.Below is an example of what you would find if you search for San Francisco.To clarify, click “More Information” for the health-based violations.
