In review of technology and ethical standards to nursing, I believe nurses will uphold their ethical professional obligations to patients, however some nurses may face dilemmas that could potentially cloud their judgment. In my current role, my team will access medical records from different states and review the documentation from not only the physicians but also the nurses. Not only are nursing notes used in multiple cases with my department the accuracy of the notes are reviewed. For example, as a clinician I can review nursing notes and identify when a nurse documents the same information for all clients, which will conclude how a case will do in litigation against the facility and insurance company. But how does this affect actual nursing care?

Upholding core nursing values and ethics serves in one purpose patient safety. According to Tsarfati and Cojocaru (2020), nurses will need to adapt to the implications of technology and nursing, by adopting to electronic medical records and ensuring patient safety as well as nursing ethics are upheld. What are some central ethical issues that technology will bring to nursing?
