Engaging with each other is essential in an online course. For this conversation, read the scenario and share your experiences with your colleagues by responding to ONE of the following statements.

Positive and negative punishment are often confused, so be sure to think carefully about the differences between them. When Roy finished his puzzle, his mother praised him and said to him loudly, “Good job, Roy!” Roy stopped playing with puzzles from that point on.

• Describe the antecedent, the behavior that changed, the consequence, and whether this is an example of positive or negative punishment.
• Describe your own example scenario of positive or negative punishment. Clearly identify the antecedent, behavior, consequence, and if your example is positive or negative punishment.
