You can embark on the next level of your journey in the humanities by showing you have mastered Module 3. To conquer this module, you must present your findings showing you have learned and interacted with elders from a particular culture and understand the significance their art plays in their culture. Only by understanding how art is central to their lives and identity will you be able to take those tools to the next level of the course with music and hear and feel the beat of various cultures.

Introduction

You, the student traveler, will demonstrate what you learned in the art level of the campaign by composing a codex (slideshow) on a topic that correlates with the art level to embark on the next level of the campaign. Throughout history art was produced in a manner to symbolize power; spirituality; and wealth. Art guides, influences, and shapes a society’s morals, values, politics, religious, and social conditioning. For this codex (slideshow), select 2 pieces of art (architecture, painting, sculpture) from a single culture that best symbolize the identity or culture of a society. Within your codex (slideshow), discuss why you selected the art and the aesthetics of the art. Describe its significance to the nation, impact on influencing a nation, and how the art contributes to national or cultural identity (for example, the Eiffel Tower commemorates the centennial of the French Revolution and serves as a symbol of the liberation of the French people and is recognized as a symbol of love). Remember, you are showcasing these pieces of art and explaining how they contribute to a culture’s national identity. You are showing how they represent their culture’s development of identity. Your images and explanations need to work together.

The ability to analyze, extrapolate, and share data/information will be key in any industry as it shows the ability for critical and independent thinking. Likewise, it shows the development of soft skills such as using computerized presentation software, creating files, documenting source information, and being able to organize information in a coherent manner. This will serve you well once you master the TSTC realm and enter the workforce realm.
